Update from College Secretary and Director, College Health Service to staff and students
5 March 2020
Dear colleagues / students
As you will be aware, there are now nine confirmed cases of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) in Ireland, including three in Northern Ireland.
We are continuing to monitor the ongoing situation and we are actively devising contingency plans for a variety of scenarios in College.
Two new procedures in relation to Leave and Working Arrangements and Remote Working during the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak have been approved by the Executive Officer Group. Copies of these can be viewed on the HR web pages here:
- Remote working procedure during COVID-19 outbreak https://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/COVID19_working_from_home_procedures.pdf
- Procedure for Leave and Working Arrangements during COVID-19 outbreak https://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/COVID19_leave_and_working_arrangements_procedures.pdf
These arrangements will be kept under review and may be changed as the situation with Covid-19 develops.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade are now advising against non-essential travel to the regions of Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna in Italy. On this basis, Trinity recommends that any students or staff do not travel to these regions and that any travel which is being planned does not go ahead at this time to these regions.
If any staff member is unable to return to Ireland they should contact their line manager. If any student is unable to return to Ireland or has queries about issues on their return they should contact their personal Tutor or the Senior Tutor's Office on 353-1-8962551 or stosec@tcd.ie
For more information and advice on how to protect yourself from Covid-19, please refer to our designated webpage.
Kind regardsJohn Coman, Secretary to the College
