Dear College community,

Today marks the end of the first week back after Reading Week. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard in preparing College to have our teaching spaces and the Library operating at full capacity and in ensuring our campus is as safe as possible.

Stay at home if you have COVID-19 symptoms

There has been a surge in positive cases as you will have seen in media reports. This re-emphasises the message that we all have a personal responsibility to adhere to public health advice, keep on wearing face coverings inside, and not to come onto campus if you are COVID-19 symptomatic.

If we don’t take prompt action when we have COVID-19 symptoms – by staying at home and getting a test – we put others at risk. Let’s work together to make this behaviour an essential part of how we protect each other.

WHO vaccination certs

Vaccination certificates recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) will be accepted by Trinity for access to indoor events. This is good news for our international students who have been vaccinated outside of Ireland and who have documentary evidence of a complete COVID-19 vaccination course with a COVID-19 vaccine authorised by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) or recommended by the WHO. Ventilation and CO2 monitors

Ventilation helps prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The Estates and Facilities team has reviewed all teaching spaces on the CMIS 400 list to determine the type and extent of ventilation standards that exist.

The CMIS list includes all Senior Lecturer pool rooms. All teaching spaces on this list have been verified as meeting the necessary ventilation standards for when the room is at full capacity. If for some reason your teaching space is not listed here, please contact estatesandfacilities@tcd.ie cc’ing returntocampus@tcd.ie.

Stay safe

You are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated. Don’t forget that you can participate in the UniCoV project which assists in the detection of increased levels of COVID-19 across higher education institutes. We also encourage you to use Government’s free and easy-to-use COVID Tracker App. 

Finally, we would like to remind teaching staff that lectures are to finish no later than 10 minutes to the hour to avoid congestion. We also ask students to avoid congregating in large groups outside the Library, lecture theatres, after tutorials or lab sessions and so on. Thank you.
