TRiSS Postgraduate Fellowship Report 2025/26 - Maicol Cortes

Maicol is a PhD candidate in the School of Relgion, Peace Studies and Theology.

I had the honour of presenting my paper titled "Re-evaluating the War Scroll and John’s Apocalypse: An Unbiased Comparison?" at the international meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature, held in Uppsala, Sweden. During the opening ceremony, the president of the European Association of Biblical Studies (EABS)—the most prestigious biblical studies association in Europe—called me to the stage to receive the Runner-Up Student Prize for my paper.
