Postgraduate Study Desks

Postgraduate Study Desks - also known as Postgraduate Carrels - are individual study desks in the Library allocated to registered postgraduate students, upon receipt of a completed application form and subject to availability. Other readers may use a desk on the understanding that it must be vacated if the Postgraduate Study Desk holder wishes to use it. Lockers are provided with every Postgraduate Study Desk for storage of (non-Library) personal items.

Postgraduate Study Desk Application

Postgraduate Study Desks may be requested by registered Doctoral and Masters students at the beginning of the academic year for the remainder of that year
Demand is high so priority will be given to research postgraduate students over taught courses
Desks are available in the Eavan Boland, Lecky, and Ussher Libraries and the Hamilton Library - we aim to locate the reader close to their subject collection if possible

Previous Postgraduate Study Desk holders should return their keys to us as soon as possible, either in person to a Library Service Desk, or by post to: Iris Bedford, Postgraduate Study Desks, the Library of Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2 or Mary Caffrey, Postgraduate Study Desks, c/o Hamilton Library, Library of Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2 ...as appropriate. Please include a note with your name, student ID number, and the Postgraduate Study Desk number.

Lockers are provided with every Postgraduate Study Desk for personal items only, not for storage of non-borrowed Library books or journals. Locker keys must be returned by the assigned due date (check your Library account for details). Lost keys or keys that are not returned by the assigned due date incur the following charges:

Keys not returned by the due date: €50
Replacement of lost keys: €25
